Applying Alcoholics Anonymous Principles to

The Disease of Racism

The Isaiah Project, INC.

LET OUR HEALING BEGIN

The goal of the ISAIAH Project Inc. is to inform, educate, and motivate the Poor, Black men, women, children, other peoples of color, some White folks, so called, whose lives have been affected by racism, that it is a disease, a mental illness. Like alcohol/drug dependence, other substance misuse, and violence. It is a disease, a mental illness. It cannot be cured. It cannot be controlled, and neither can the other person affected. However, it can be stopped. It can be arrested, pun intended. It can be treated!

“Show me a man or woman whose has not achieved their dreams or goals and I will show you a man or woman whose life has been affected by mental illness, alcohol/drug dependence, other substance misuse, racism, and violence.”

Programs

THE RECOVERY ROOM

The Recovery Room is a safe space for victims of racism, in particular Black men, women, and children, “JUST US,” whose lives have been affected by Racism and Racist behavior for over 400 plus years since being brought to the Americas in chains. In addition, the Recovery Room welcomes other peoples of color, and ethnicities whose lives historically have been affected by Racism and Racist behavior.

This is how the Program Works

It uses the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, Slogans, and Serenity Prayer of Alcoholics Anonymous. It has the written permission to do so from AA World Service Inc since August of 2016. Meetings are free, and by appointment only. Purchase and reading of “APPLYING ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS PRINCIPLES TO THE DISEASE OF RACISM,” is a necessary requirement for admittance into the Recovery Room.

Show me a man or woman who has not achieved their dreams, and I will show you a man or woman whose life has been affected by mental illness, addiction to alcohol, drugs, substance misuse, racism and violence.
