ISAIAH PROJECT’s PROGRAMS

THE RECOVERY ROOM

The Recovery Room is a safe space for victims of racism, in particular Black men, women, and children, “JUST US,” whose lives have been affected by Racism and Racist behavior for over 400 plus years since being brought to the Americas in chains. In addition, the Recovery Room welcomes other peoples of color and ethnicities whose lives historically have been affected by Racism and Racist behavior.

This how the Program Works

It uses the 12 Steps, 12 Traditions, Slogans, and Serenity Prayer of Alcoholics Anonymous. It has the written permission to do so from AA World Service Inc since August of 2016. Meetings are free, and by appointment only. Purchase and reading of “APPLYING ALCOHOLIC ANONYMOUS PRINCIPLES TO THE DISEASE OF RACISM,” is a necessary requirement for admittance into the Recovery Room.

Reentry Program – For Men & Women on Parole or About to Be Released to Parole

MISSION STATEMENT: To reduce the high rate of recidivism and increase the greater possibility of employment for Incarcerated men and women on probation or parole or about to be released to probation or parole.

PROGRAM GOAL: To Educate, Motivate, and Convince the attendees in The Dream Makers Program to internalize that changes in behavior, attitude, and values are necessary that must be made in changing unhealthy lifestyles, that lead to alcohol/drug dependence, substance misuse, anger, racism, and violence that can result in incarceration that can affect and impact on themselves, their family relationships, and the community.

St. Dismas Re-entry Project

It is a “How to” Pastoral Ministry training workshop for faith communities interested in starting or visiting incarcerated men, women, and children. Visiting them in Jail, or Prison, offering Spiritual comfort through a sweet hour of prayer, song, and hope. Using St. Dismas, as the model, a convicted felon, hanging on the cross alongside of Jesus. He repented and was forgiven by a dying Jesus next to him. He entered (stole) into Paradise, Heaven. St. Dismas is proof that It is never too late. Every day we wake up, we have another chance.

“….in prison and you visited me.” Matt 25:36
